just to say, unless you're really popular, no it wouldn't take being anal about comments.  all it would take is being notified you got a rating and comment and seeing your rating drop.  unless you're not checking your email or you get lots and lots of comments, it will be pretty obvious.  that's one of the reasons i feel a single recommend or don't would be better.  then nobody would be afraid of giving low ratings.  though this case just sounds malicious.
