The comments are the main things, but some people consider even the best-intentioned criticism to be a personal affront. I've known artists to respond to perfectly polite comments by disabling comments on subsequent contributions, but that banishes the favourable observations just as surely as the critical ones, which are, in any case, just as valid. Others get incredibly defensive about their friends' pictures, even though the actual artists are perfectly relaxed about criticism, as long as it is sincere.
It must also be said that a lot of Renderosity members seem to have undergone triple humour-bypass procedures with a 120% success-rate.
