An old family friend gave me this, a tiny photo from a locket (less than an inch tall). It is a photo of her mother, the only one she has. i was wondering if any of you photo wizards might be able to clean it up and bring out more detail. I've already enhanced it a bit...it was very washed out. I'll send her everyone's attempt -- thanks! ~Kort

Wow, it's pretty far gone. It'll be interesting to see if anyone can fix 'er up.

Yeah, it is in pretty bad shape, but not bad considering it fits on my fingertip. I'm lucky I have a good scanner and photoshop. ;']

Now that is one tiny pic! You certainly do have a good scanner. I'd give it a go but I honestly don't think I'd be up to the task. I'd probably just end up repainting the whole darn thing, lol.

I've done a little bit of work on this but I was afraid of going to far with it.  I'm sure others with more experience of restoration will produce far better work.

LOL... then I went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far....But it was fun anyway. I've never done this before...

I just focused on her face...Not much information there and I have no idea if this is what she even looked like....Anyway, it's painted...of course...lol. Hope you guys don't think this is awful....( bites nails....lol. )

You did a great job, Mark.

PS As far as I'm concerned, the face is not done, lol...I just thought maybe I should stop there, thinking I was overdoing it, too....

Edit: I should really delete this. I see some glaring mistakes already, lol.

Wow, you both did exceptionally! I know it takes a while to do this sort of thing so I appreciate you giving it a go. I think she'll love to see those. BTW, this was taken in pre- WWII Germany.

Wow a great diti will have a go when I have more time than present :)

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

What a lovely rendition, oldworld.  I like how you kept the aged feel and yet gave us more information. Very well done!
