I think microsoft has something like it as well, but some areas are very detailed, and you can even almost view license plates at google's headquarters.

Much depends on the quality of the available satillite images, and enough detail can be seen, that many countries have contacted google, and had areas blurred out, because "secret" air strips, and plane inventory could be seen in them.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
