The problem is that (for me) imports that have no image textures have the Diffuse Amount set to .5 (very close to black) in B6. Since the .OBJ format doesn't support a Diffuse Amount parameter most apps (including older versions of Bryce) simple set it to 80 to 100. For some reason B6.1 doesn't do this anymore with solid color textures. I import .OBJ's into the Intergrated DAZ Studio which brings them back to Bryce at 100% Diffuse but require re-smoothing for sharp edged objects (D|S resmooths imports). B6.1 exports also adds an odd hack to the .MTL file - Bryce now reads comment lines (lines that begin with #) for certain info like the diffuse amount. So you can also open the .MTL and after each "newmtl" line add this line " #dif_amt 1.000000" (without quotes). This sets the Bryce diffuse amount to 100. RE: newmtl acmat_0 #dif_amt 1.000000 Kd 1 1 1 etc. HTH; Dan
