The texture and general look is really good. Anything with big hand valves would be welded or use sanitary flanges (big flat disk joints with bolts). Also you have two valves and two ways through so opening or closing both of these won't stop the flow through this system. It's just not functional.

 Also through use these valves never end up exactly straight in line with the pipes. I'd turn any handle or nut and bolt at a slightly different angle from the pipes or each other.
