I thought of a better solution of using a broom handle instead of the angle.I bought 1/2" conduit hangers from a store to mount to the wood dowel rod.I used a piece of the angle to mount to the tripod for more stability utilizing 2 conduit hangers

wow this is super looking. You can ajust to what lenge you wish and move it up and down with the tripod. I think you should pantent this.
look easy to make too. It hard to make out how you got the wood on the tripod but it looks the same as with the camera?

Very inventive.  If you havent thought of it, adding a counter balance on the other end of the broomstick would ease positioning and  lessen the chance of the tripod tipping

Very creative boom solution!

One thing that occurs to me is that the boom is round and there's a chance of slippage the way the camera is mounted so that the camera doesn't stay exactly the way you want it. I'd probably replace the wooden pole with a square aluminium pipe. Maybe also use some butterfly bolts for easy (dis)assembly.

Dont really understand the purpose as there are tons of pro tripods that can do the same thing!

I asked the same question, but pro tripods cost pro-money. For incidental usage this is a fine solution for just a few dollars/euro's/whatever currency :)

Right, and in a studio set-up, it can be left set up while you take your nice pro tripod with you when you go out.
