Hmm. Calls for a new category, "billboards". Billboards are quite useful for midrange and background objects, I've used them on a regular basis when I still rendered in Poser.
But they're definitely not 3D objects.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
