Using Image Ready seems to work best for me.  In Adobe CS when I go to "save for web" I do not get a slider.  If  I  just use "save as" I do get the slider and with some croping I can get the file size down.   Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, my karma must have gone south for the summer and just will not let me upload pix to the site.  After I put in all the info, the little blue bar across the bottom that shows it is transferring the data goes half way across then just stops.  After 5 or 10 minutes it comes up with "cannot find server".   I'll keep trying and maybe one day it will all come together.  You may have noticed my profile shows nothing uploaded.  I use a Cingular air card since there is no cable DSL and no rapid phone service in  my area.
