You can have separate 'runtime' to install to, and Poser will handle several different runtime folders. In the content browser, there's a command to create a new runtime.
It's the folders underneath that runtime that you don't want to mess with.
Well, you could, after you learn what each and every file does, but a good rule of thumb inside poser runtimes is, if unsure, don't move or rename things.
