Thanks ICM. That's just xEarth.. it's a Windows port of a Linux app. It has two views of Earth, shows positions of various cities, you can enter new ones if you know the latitude/longitude coordinates. The yellow are earthquakes, the big one is one that happened in Japan this past January or Feb. The map moves.. it is updated relative to the position of the sun. So as the hours pass you will see map shift. It's a nice little app that I've been using for years.
