Some people find it really useful, others think it is a waste of money. I think the bottom line for Amorphium is that it is a nice ADD-ON for your existing 3D Software. If you have the extra money lying around and want to try something a little different then you will be happy with it. If you are looking for a complete alternative to 3D modelling this is NOT it. Most users are hoping for some major fixes and upgrades in the next version release. It's not really good for finely detailed work I played with it for awhile, it's good for making morph targets with Poser, although I don't use it any longer, I am using the magnet tools in Poser 4 mostly.
