Ok..this is exactly what I am doing: I brought up the original PSD file. I selected the lips layer. Then I just made a copy of the original file. I colorized the lips. Then I merged all layers flat on the copy I made. Then I selected the lips and the surrounding skin. Inverted the selection. Hit the delete button..so now I have the lips and surrounding skin. Everything else is white. Deselect. Save as a lip map. So why the heck you can see the original lips is beyond me :(
