Removing the shortcuts from the desk top doesn't remove the updater.

*Is there a problem if I want to remove the updater, not just the desktop shortcut, but the updater program? Can I remove the program, and just update things as before?

*If the installers already find the batch files, what is the updater program files for? I'm getting confused.
