Subject: Transposer 2 questions

photojoe ( ) posted Sat, 18 August 2007 at 4:49 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 10:33 AM

I just purchased Carrera 5 Pro and have been looking for further information on Transposer2. Does anyone know where further documentation is in the Daz download?

Does Transposer2 just import a poser figure as a static model (no reposing of the mesh) or should the IK information be imported as well? It seems rather foolish to create a plugin that doesn't make an imported object editable.

Thanks,

Joe

Transposer brings in the Poser file, including motion, along with dynamic hair and cloth. The Poser scene is uneditable within Carrara when using Transposer. The Carrara native importer will not bring in dynamic hair or cloth but does allow you to bring in the poser figures in an editable format.

Here's an example using Transposer. I find that putting dummy props in the Poser scene allows me to position the poser figures better. The other key annoying issue I have with Transposer is having to reset all of the materials each time I import the scene. It should be possible to resave the scene and then have it refreshed in Carrara but I've not been using that.

You will find the Help for it amongst the items in the main HELP dropdown at the top of the screen.
