This is a "rolling comber." "Rolling" for the shape of the wave as it rolls over onto the water below. A "comber" is an old American word for a wave that is extra long (linear length perpendicular to the beach). Some very flat beaches with shallow shelving into the ocean produce such waves. Surfers also call these "pipes", and we like them because they make dramatic pictures.
