...as a long time Poser Sketch Desiger user- I would say that these Freestyle EFX are in a number of ways better and different. But what they LACK is what Sketch Designer does pretty well- ... Cross Hatching and "Scratchboard" type drawing efx... and the Freestyle Dev Group has admitted that adding Cross-Hatching, etc. is something that would like to see in a FUTURE version--They know HOW to do it- BUT- it was beyond what they were presenting in this current version....

Freestyle actually has a CLOSER relationship to what Carrara's NPR features do- Carrara's NPR features are really EXCELLENT... but what they lack is what the Freestyle team has come up with- Bezier Curve (Japanese Brushes) and most importantly, a LAYERING system -- with Style sheets that are modifiable...their are a number of MORE Python Efx on their website that do not come with the initial Freestyle download...

...and Daz Studio...I'm working to put the Freestyle Dev people together with the Daz Studio dev people..it is a VERY GOOD fit as Freestyle bases their shader concepts around Renderman shaders... also- with the Eovia people on board at Daz- they already HAVE a LOT of the basic knowledge and expertise from Carrara's NPR to both UPGRADE Carrara's NPR and add them to Daz Studio as well... And the Freestyle dev people are all French- where there (France) is much greater interest and research in computer FINE ART drawing EFX... so...I think it is a near perfect fit!....

...On the other hand- the e-frontier dev people have done NOTHING with Sketch Designer since it was first introduced back in P4 (or maybe P3- can't remember) back when the Fractal Design wizards were doing cool stuff borrowed from Painter brushes... There is so much MORE that could be done with Sketch Designer in Poser...with layers, python, etc... unfortunately Sketch Designer cannot be accessed by Python in Poser- because they never bothered to think about it as an artists tool since P4...
