hey! i want to know why i can't add myself as my friend!!

if i see a new toy that i think my little boy would like, i show it to him, and he says he doesn't want it!! but if i buy it for him, when he gets it home, he plays with it for hours and decides he loves it, and it becomes his new favourite toy.
