Nah.. sounded liek he wanted to get away from his PC and do some rl artowrk instead. I always take my scetch pad with me on vacations.. it's a nice break, and if a different creative feeling going back to 2d manual artwork creation.

Many people use mannikins for references.. I usually work out of my head, or with one of two smaller action figures I take with me. I like the newer ones, because they have great sculpting, and killer articulation. Far more, really then needed for art references, but I'd rather have too much then not enough.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
