A simple image, appropriate for the day, made in Poser 4 and embellished with Color It! 2.3 and GraphicConverter. If you're looking at this image, then you don't have to worry about your computer's internal calendar going berserk. Comments?

I thought 9/9/99 was only a problem for kidney dialasis machines. Looks like my computer escaped whatever destruction this date is supposed to wreak. We could always do like some small countries that don't have the money to complete Y2K preparations and make it 1995 again.

Hey, is that date in European or American format? ;-) Sorry, had to do it. Newc

9999 was usually the time that most programs would STOP at or END run. Older machines can get confused and simply think it's time to end the program. 9999 is also the release date for the NEW Sega Dreamcast. The Sony Playstation originally launched on Sept. 9 and soon after would release their major titles on that date or following within a pattern of other dates. You could set your clock on them. However they aren't using that plan anymore so it's pot luck as to when they will release certain titles. Was Sega launching their new system on this date a way of saying "We are putting a stop to Sony?" Who knows..... Guess it would be nice if a Poser 5 was coming out today.....sigh..... PAN~

Luckily, most of us are using computers that refer to 9/9/99 as 09/09/99. I don't think we've got too much to worry about. Just more paranoia, methinks. -ScottK

You said it Scott! Methinks this is just a way of the gov'ment tricking us...tricking us into THINKING all will be scary so that when it doesn't happen the way we expect ...we will be confused and befuddled and ripe for the taking! Pose on fellow members! Pose on.....towards FREEDOM! PAN~ to much work and no posing makes pan a strange boy...

Then again mabey it's a ploy by the government to belay fears about the y2k issue, Everone expects something terrible to happen on 9/9/99 and then it doesn't, so, people start saying things like "Hey, mabey this y2k thing is all bunk after all" then come the end of the year they don't take their money out of the bank and stuff it in their matress or cookie jars. Gotta go stock up on bottled water and canned spam! right. :-P
