If I rename them to the names of the eon files, and replace the eon folder (just saving the eon ones under a different name to use for toon scenes), would your new textures load automatically in my ecos? Yes.  You can load in a standard Vue Tree, replace the wood mats with the new ones, and then save the tree species.  I have created a new folder on may machine with the new wood-based tree species.
