Subject: Real Skin Shader for D|S?

Is there a shader system that can provide realistic skin effects for Studio.  I have Posework's set, but am having difficulty getting the skin to look realistic.

Part of the way the RealSkin shaders work is by faking SSS (Sub Surface Scattering), and Poseworks' shaders actually have SSS, so the trick is to master SSS, rather than faking it ;).  Have you tried reading up on Poseworks' forum?

I've peaked into it, but nothing of what I have seen gives the same effect.  I've tried tweaking the settings on Posework's shaders, but the skin still comes looking burnt or oily.

This is a great shader set for DS.  You have to register to download it, but it's free.

DAZ|Studio 1.4.16.0 or better. 
DAZ|Studio Default Shader Presets

What I'd recommend is, rather than start with one of his premade shader presets, is to delve in and experiment on your own.  I don't have D|S open right now, but even just experiementing with the SSS settings for the skin, trying different strengths, changing the colors, etc, can have a HUGE impact on not only your output but creating more realistic skin.  Give me a couple days to fiddle, and I'll see what I can come up with ;)

I should also have mentioned that although this comes with lots of easy, one click options, you can tweak this to your hearts content until you're satisfied with the results.  It's a great way to experiment in Daz Studio if you're new to shaders.

It has options such as sub surface scattering, translucency, ambient occlusion etc, and does produce some really nice results.
