Subject: A reminder to all artists and merchants making clothing for V4.1

I am always surprised when artists and merchants who are developing clothing products for V4 are completely unaware that there is a Victoria 4.1 Muscle morphs add-on package made by DAZ for V4. Unfortunately this vital package is not freely available and yet it is essential when you are aiming for realism.

As a reminder for anyone who would like to use these morphs, and I should also like to point out that these morphs are NOT only intended for creating Female Body Builders or Muscular women but ANY original V4 character and should be included in clothing products as GOOD practice and design and ONLY omitted when superflous. By doing this  users will have the opportunity to fit a clothing product to ANY V4.1 character that was created with these morphs. It is also a sign of consideration and thoughtfulness by the merchant to produce flexible universal products for buyers; five stars for that alone.

I'm sure it's NOT that having them built in is an oversight.. it's that including body shape morphs for clothing is a LOT of additional work, and in many cases, you won;t make any real additional money at all by inclding all the other available morphs as well.

There is a magnet set to automate clothing fits for the included body shapes, and since that's pretty easy to do, you always see those morphs included with clothing sets.

Manually fitting a clothing set could take up to 6 hours work per moprh, (or possibly even more!), so you can easily see how additional morph clothing developement might actually double developement time... and it's not liek you can charge double for the end product, because the marketplace balks at higher priced items.

When you are developeing products, you have to walk a balance between developement time, features, and estimated sales numbers... and on many products, you might not even break even on developement time vs final sales numbers.

Yeah, including all the morphs would make it for a very expensive product. It takes a ton of time to create all those fitting morphs. Longer then modelling the original piece in most cases. Most clothing packages don't sell for enough money to make it worth while.

Sure, I caould make a set with all the fitting morphs and a lot of nice elaborate details and functions... and would have to sell it for $50 or $75 or more to make it worth while. 
I doubt things would sell for that much!!! That kind of a price is likely to cause mutiny in a world of poser users.

that's one of the issues I''m having doign poser products.. I want to throw in everything but the kitchen sink, but nitch products don't sell enough to warrant that type of expansion.

That's why I've just kicked back, and taken a few months off.

Lyrra has a set of magnets to make clothes fit the muscle and creature expansion sets at Daz (the magnets are easy to turn into proper morphs on the clothing items) : http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=5474

...and there are many clothing items that I simply wouldn't have got if these sets weren't available...

I think Netherworks has a magnet set as well, but I'm not sure of that.

There's another option too:  Wardrobe Wizard, by Phil C will analyze a piece of clothing vs. morphed character and make the fits for you. Works really well and is available for most of the poser made characters.

and there's a third option i have to try next time i need a fitting.  nerd3d said you can use the cloth room by making the whole item constrained.  or you could try the dynamic, soft and rigid decorated groups to actually do some realistic cloth morphs (which Anton mentioned he used as a start for MFD draping).  it probably takes more work, but it's free to Poser 5+ users.

From what I understand crossdresser, if that is the one you are talking about Gareee doesn't do the morphs. So far the WW has done the best job for me.

Ok I understand that the additional time spent including the V4.1 Muscle morphs takes a lot of work and time but I would personally be willing to pay the extra to buy something that I know saves me from having to play with magnets etc or needing to buy specialised software to do it because the artist has done the work for me. I would certainly pay the extra if the product is what I want and is well done. I suppose that this is the point because nobody knows what is going to be a winner so the answer is to play it down with extra morphs and then you don't loose too much if the item doesn't sell well and you haven't wasted too much time.
Well I can only say for example, that with every car thats manufactured cheap or expensive it has to have good safety features otherwise nobody would buy it and people expect those features to come built in regardless of the ends that the manufacturer has to go to to do it, and I believe that the same goes for including morphs. As far as I am concerned they should always be built in unless it would be superflous but I take your point. However if I would be willing to pay the extra for something that does what I need and saves me the buyer time, I also believe that others would do so too.
