so far as I know it'll import pz3 files fine - have you tried the PLE version first to check ?
I much prefer the renders from Vue to the ones done in Poser - the lighting is FAR easier to set up once you get the hang of it. If you are using full GI or GR settings then the renders can be slow but there are ways to tweak the settings.
I use Vue 6 Infinite for almost all my poser renders these days
