I think what dragon5 really needs is to visit some tutorials for newbies and to read the  manual that came with daz studio.
I know when I first started I spent many hours searching and reading until I got the idea. I wasn't a member here at the time and didn't know the forums existed. 
Its hard getting started but there's lots of good tutorials out there.
