However something has changed with the introduction of the PHP site changes that is now causing spam email to be somehow sent to some email addresses associated with this site: email addresses that until used here never received spam, including brand new addresses set up for use on this site.

There is a leak of some kind where the email ebot/notification/newsletter/etc sending features are concerned.  Prior to the PHP changes this wasn't an issue.
