(Please ignore this post - it's just my opinion of some things that may or may not be relevant)

What IS a "short person"?

As far I as I can see, the question is both academic and subjective.
Take the above render. Apologies for crude render; speed of creation ruled.

A. Two Posettes.

One is scaled (globally) relative to the other.
There are no other differences between the two figures apart from some minor pose changes, and the "X-Transition"
So are we looking at:

I suspect that most people would opt for (at 1st glance) "an adult and a child".
Why?
Because of the pose. ("Mother is taking daughter out for a walk, isn't that cute?")
BUT! The "child" is Posette at 100% scale. The mother is Posette at (approx) 120% scale.

I used to know a guy who was over 7 ft tall. He was otherwise "normally" proportioned. Without something of known height to give context, you wouldn't know that he was of above average height.
Locally, here in Reading, UK, there's a little Indian lady who is about 4ft 6in. tall, but again "normally" proportioned. Once again, you only notice her size when there's something to put it into context.

B. Two (slightly different) Posettes.

The only difference between A and B is the size of the head of the smaller posette. In B I've scaled the head up a bit.
So now "li'l Posette" actually sort-of looks more childlike.
(Biological side-note: Offspring of most mammalian species are born with nearly full-sized heads; especially full-sized eyes and brain, and therefore the area of the skull surrounding them. Hence the "cutie-tootie" appeal of the young of most species: fawns, calves, puppies, kittens etc. and, of course, of Manga. End side-note)

So, to get back to the original point... What IS a "short person"?
And the simple answer is: It depends.

And I'm not going to start on the differences between fairies, elves, pixies, leprechauns, gnomes, dwarves....'cos I'll quickly run out of time!

Sorry for going on so long, once I started I couldn't stop. Pos(et)ted under extreme time pressure, with lots I didn't have time for...

But anyway....

Cheers,
Diolma
