I think they might have fallen victim to the clearance section.

When I filled out the MP survey this last time I suggested getting rid of that section or allowing merchants to either opt in or opt out, or be able to opt in certain products in they want to.  But to force it means the demise of many great and hard to find, niche type products that may not sell hoards everyday but are still in demand if not today, then tomorrow type thing.
