Quicktime Pro - easy, powerful way to assemble your folder of frames (image sequence) into an animation, then save out to codex/compression.
After Effects for animation post processing

Canvas (ACD) ...which I am sure no one else has heard of, uses or would purchase (because there are a lot of free and low cost 2D apps). You don't need Canvas Ten...Canvas 8 is all you need, works for Mac and PC.

I'm putting this link because it memorializes a very great, very flexible competetor for Photoshop that ALSO is a 'painter.' In many ways it is better than PS. It can also import a folder of frames and make animated gifs.
