The first court appearance will have been for the criminal proceedings, the next one will be a civil hearing to sort out the compensation from the insurance company.

If i imagine it from my own perspective...

• £150, i can afford that.
• another £225, i can afford that, but it would defenitely hurt my wallet.
• losing my drivers license, ouch, that would be painful if i had one because its expensive to get it back, that should get to him...
• a new car... cripples my finances for at least 3 years, assuming a decent raise next year and the year after and would put my moving out plans 2 or 3 years into the future as a result. Seriously tough one there...

Then to get the insurance company after me as well?? the people that are experts at paying as little as they can while squeezing as much outta the rest as they can? scary... very scary considering the financial blow of the points mentioned above...
