My uni societys has a "protected "facebook page. Viewing and posting requires you sign up
providing a lot of personal info, and faff around with invites. Some pages require academic email address -which is now a spam magnet.
Once in - it's a phishers and stalkers dream. real birthdays, mobile numbers or addresses. And if you pollute it with duff info other users get upset.
It's very popular though - the little kiddie winkies on my course spend more time on facebook than doing group work on the uni BBS :( That might seem grouchy but when your degree could depend on other people pulling their weight and they do slap-dash stuf at the last minute, it's not funny.
