Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 4:12 am)
Really? I have never had any problems at all with IBL in Vue. I also have seen Vue images that come close to that and don't use IBL, although I certainly haven't made them! I'd love to see more on this thread. We've gotten some good tips on outdoor lighting and settings, but I feel very in the dark still when it comes to indoor stuff.
If you look carefully, bland objects which are near richly colored ones assume partly the "dominating" color, a dead give away that radiosity was used.
GIMP 2.7.4, Inkscape 0.48, Genetica 3.6 Basic, FilterForge 3 Professional, Blender 2.61, SketchUp 8, PoserPro 2012, Vue 10 Infinite, World Machine 2.3, GeoControl 2
I'll have to try an HDRI map I think - I have some extreme hires ones somewhere so I'll give it a bash and thanks for the tip about boosting the radiosity gain. I'd never figured out exactly what that was for

Is there ay way of getting a Vue render to come close to the sort of effects you can get with VRay ?The lighting on some of the renders at that link is just astounding and I'd love to see if the Vue gurus here could get something close. I know Vue is more for sweeping landscapes etc but it does a pretty good job with Poser content so you never know
Regards
