You can select an area of the template with the point-to-point tool, then copy the scan to the clipboard (even if it is larger than the template), paste it into the selected area, and PSP will resize it to fit inside the area, and it usually comes out pretty good. If you do resize anything (scan, template, etc) the PSP book says to use Bilinear Resample for shrinking and Bicubic Resample for increasing.
