Hi, Guys. searched for this again, but can't find a direct answer, so i'm posting an example image.

I'm working on a pile of characters for a showreel of my talents. They are all based on a 60's British sci-fi puppet series. I've been using Faceshop Pro 3.5 and then tweaking with the morph tools in Poser. This character is almost finished, but there are some ugly artefacts around the neck and head join. The Poser 7 smoothing tool has done a great job on most parts of the head geometry, but the neck area is being a pain in the proverbial.

I'm planning on animating the characters, and I'd like to make it look better. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Wish I could help; unfortunately I can't.  I did, however, want to comment on the character work, which is very nice.  Space Patrol?  Brings back memories, does that.

IMO, you need to be careful with morphs when you get near seams, the transitions are not the greatest. I usually stay just outside the seam and make do with what I want or...
go hog wild and blast right through it. lol!

If the latter, then only experience will tell you what you can and can't get away with. But you will need good textures to hide that area. You probably don't want to hear this because it has taken you some time to get to where you are but you shoud try, staying just outside the seam, going through the seam ever so slightly, and then blasting right through it...then create those morphs and see how they affect the mesh.

Good luck, hope this helps.

If your using magnets to make the morphs, don't neglect to set the magnet effect any other body pats in the magnet's zone, and spaun a morph for thatr part, too.

You can then make  a Full Body morh combining the morphs, or just set the dials to the same number.

Hi serene

If you haven't found a fix yet.  I could smooth it for you in lightwave if you'd like.

Cheers
Pat

Pat, I will take you up on that. As we say here, it's doing my suede in. I'm still learning Modo at the moment, and haven't yet gained the skills to smooth a complex mesh.

How would you like the data? At the moment it's just a CR2.

Sounds good!  E mail me at patricktrimble@gmail.com   As for the data,  RTE or Mover.
