Ever heard of google, *heh heh heh*, I'd type color skin reference pictures and clothing textures, in seperate searches of course...you might also try the Texture Forum here. Probably some good tips just perusing the main forum listing, tho it doesn't seem that long. A good place to ask  as well for sure.  For brushes go to Free Stuff and hit the search button and type brushes...sure to be a whack there. That smiling trick is likely done with some sort of morphing software or a Photoshop® plug in of some sort.. ...

 

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again
