I use PSP 9 and don't even own photo shop.

I have been thinking about getting the layered image editor plugin.  From what I understand it will be built into v2 of DS...except for the ability to make the layers.  If you don't have the plugin you can use the built in version  for layers that other ppl make and sell or give away.
