I find this interesting because almost all of your rules seem to point at techniques I used when making Odyssey and Vickybuster. Haha, do you not like those textures? ;) Good ideas though, even though I don't agree with four of them. :) I'll try to keep these in mind the next time I start on a texture anyway. Take care!
