It's all about budget.  I only make $10.00 per hour at my 9-5.  I work here, I sell artwork, I do odd jobs...and, sometimes, I eek by, sometimes, I have to borrow.  It's usually a question of "Do I really Need this?"  Poser helps me to get income in other ways.  I do illustrations and artwork, and sometimes create content.  It sometimes helps to turn a hobby into money when you are in need ;)  And you don't always have to look back into the community for the help.
