Subject: Using appropriate resolution textures

Somthing else I didn't mention is that while poser gives the option of texture size in render settings those full size textures are still getting moved around in memory. Whereas if you resize the images yourself then only that gets tossed around in memory.

Well there are times when you need "every little bit" and using powers of two is one way to add to it.  So I'm actually glad that was brought up.

I guess it all comes down to how much effort you want to put into an image. The initial resizing of images can be a pain with having to redo shaders as well, but once done it is worth it.

Another thing I'm a firm believer of is that if its not in the cameras view then it really doesnt need to be there.  If i'm doing a portrait of a face closeup then anything below the neck is a waste. I've setup a v4 character thats nothing but the shoulders on up.. everything else has been removed.
