a 537723 image will need more memory allocated than an image that is 512512.
if you process every pixel of data then how can it not?
allocate 8 bits per pixel..
5377238 = 3106008
5125128 = 2097152
If your talking about a program using mipmaps then it may round to the power of two. opengl has gl_nearest and gl_linear Maybe thats what poser does, I dont know and actually stated that earlier.
