Poser 7 does not require fiddling. Windows does.
Open boot.ini from your C: drive in Notepad and add the text "/3G" after the text "/fastdetect". This will make Windows allow up to 3 GB of address space per process. Now both Poser 7 itself (integrated renderer) and FFRender can use up to 3 GB of RAM (virtual or physical) for rendering.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
