I have both poser7 and daz. Started out with daz and still prefer it to poser. Daz is more stable for me. 
I have custom runtimes set up and have both my daz and poser run off the same ones.
For example I have a  V4 runtime, A3 runtime,props runtime,environment runtime, ect..... Very easy to manage files for me that way.
The only exceptions are the products that come with DAZ specific content. They go into the default daz content folder.
