In my initial message I said,

Sometimes, the message entry area shows up black and it its not
possible to enter or edit a message.  Sometimes this happens
after I create a reply and then do a preview ... sometimes it happens
when I try to edit a message (this really hurtz when I kant kerrekt uh
speling eror ... LOL). 

My default browser is Netscape 7.2 ... so there ...

Please ask the programmers to look into this problem. 

In my followup message I said,

I have tried, without success, doing (a) page refresh; (b) clear disk
cache and then page refresh; (c) tearing my hair out.
... all without success. 

Yes, I agree that it seems that the editor does not fully load -- in fact,
I can see that area of the scree flash white ... then black ... then white
... several times.  Usually the sequence ends with the editor area
usable but sometimes (perhaps 5% to 10% of the time) it remains
black and unusable. 

I don't know of any user settings or options in this or any other browser
to enable browser instability. 

As I said in my initial message,
