Batch-rendering is a way to render frames of an animation in more than one workstation, within a network. For example at movie studios where they do a high volume of CGI work, they have a remderfarm. Basically a large set of workstations that just batch-render files, sharing the workload between them. Since some of these files could be millions of frames you can see how sharing these work over a number of machines would save a very large amount of render time.
Some companies do batch rendering online, you can send them the file and they will render it for you, saving you hours or maybe days of rendering time.
With Poser this is one of the numerous "holy grails" as the rendering can be sooooooo time consuming and some of us may have more than one machine on a network, so the posibility of batvh-rendering over a network would be very, very welcome.
