The different layers are done in Apophysis itself. Each triangle creates its own element in the composition and the elements can overlap each other. Now, I did use post production in some of these images, but it was mainly for fixing colors and lighting and for chosing a background color. "Death" had quite a bit of post production applied to it while "Slimy stars" had barely any.
