I will play the “Devils Advocate,” for the moment. I run both 32 and 64 bit systems using Vue for a long time now. Other than the memory needs, the 64 bit system is faster by about 10% over the 32 bit system. About the crashing issue, when Vue plays “Bad Boy,” the crash is usually different between the two systems. The 32 bit system usually crashes and then you just restart Vue and go back to work. If the 64 bit system crashes, Vue almost always will force a BSOD, which causes your system to reboot. That all means that you want to have your work frequently backed up just in case a BSOD occurs when using 64.
That said, most of these crashes are related to OpenGL and memory allocation issues, which is not so frequent when you have lots of onboard RAM.
Go with the 64 even if you do not like Vista.
