Yeah, the 'nice' (or 'carrot') scam e-mails aren't working quite as well as they used to.......so some of them are beginning to use threatening language instead. The nasty death-threat type e-mails probably don't work so well either -- but it's still worth a shot for the scammers.
A couple of hundred bucks can be a lot of money in places like Nigeria and Kenya. So if the scammers can get 1 person in every 2000 to respond to their e-mails then it's still been a worthwhile effort from their point of view.
