Subject: V4 morphs

mdbruffy ( ) posted Thu, 03 January 2008 at 4:53 PM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 8:51 AM

Yesterday bought the Creature Morphs for V4 at DAZ. Have been trying ever since to get the morphs to inject. Have tried nearly every version of Victoria 4 I have and it's no good every time. Things seem to go through the process, but no dial ever shows up.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

the dial might well be there. If they are from daz look in the body section and open up the daz tag. Or if they were from elsewhere they might be inside a closed menu tab in your parameters called morph. Love esther

Do you have a V4.1 figure set as the default when poser starts up?
I had the same problem trying to get it to morph using one of Daz's morph inj packs. What I found was that it injected them to the original v4.1 figure, but not the copy I had when poser starts up.  I had to load up the original v4.1 fugure then set up my own default textures etc then save that setup as my default when poser opens.
Hope this is of some help.

I have no figure set for default. I have Poser 7 set for an empty work window. I tried Victoria 4, Victoria 4 base , Victoria 4 phonemes , and Victoria 4 base phonemes and I could not get the morphs to take on any of them.

Try running the update script that comes with V4 ? It was a good while back but I think I ran into the problem you are having with either the muscle morphs or the creature one and running that fixed it.

Although you may already know this, it's sometimes necessary to click a different part of the body and then click the part wanted before the morphs can be seen.  For example, if the head is selected and the morphs are injected, they're not seen till another body part is selected and the head reselected.

What update script? I don't remember seeing any script. Sound slike I need to download this girl again.

I just took a closer look. The Victoria I have in my library is Victoria4 yet everything seems geared toward Victoria 4.1- what's the difference?

Could this be what's affecting the morphs?

Yes, you need to redownload and update V4 :-)

Did that. Re downloaded, reinstalled, ran the script. brought the figure into Poser's work window, clicked on head ( It's a head morph I'm trying to install) The system had me track down the delta in question . I clicked on that opened it- did everything I was supposed to- and the morph is still not showing up. All the inject morph channels, the DAZ channel- are staying empty.

Victoria 4.1 has to be installed into the Poser Runtime rather than an external Runtime and there could be something you missed along the way.

There is a full FAQ with lots of information about the newest V4 version at:
http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=57553&highlight=victoria+++installation

I daresay the answer to your problem lies in there somewhere.

I know when I installed the Creature Morphs and the Muscle Morphs I simply ran the desktop updater which was installed with V4 and I haven't had any problems using the morphs when I've injected them.

I have her in the main POser character library- the morphs are in the Pose section.
 I'll check that F&Q.

I know someone had this issue before because I remember reading it in a post over on the Daz Forums - hopefully it will be somewhere in that thread.  Hubby is about to leap on here to do his Horse Racing Betting for the day so it could be a while before I get back on - I'll let you know if I can turf the thread up.

Oh no! Stop him. Are you really going to let him gamble away your poser money? Have you looked at all the great goodies around in the 3d world lately? You mean to say you will let him waste money on horses when you could buy lovely useful virtual things made of polygons which are actually just pixels on a screen? Or more ram to make your virtual things work faster. Love esther

That thread was huge. I posted a note there asking for help. Don't know when someone'll answer. I've been wrestling with this for 3 days now. DAZ has only replied to my e-mail once and weren't much help. I'm still waiting for an answer to my reply to them.

I did find someone with the same problem:
http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=58041&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=18
Page 2 of the thread and 2 up from the bottom they state how they got them to work.

He has a budget of GB£10 per month for his online Ladbrokes account and if he loses all that he is SOL until next month.  That said he hasn't had to top the account up for 3 months so all those 50p bets are doing the trick.................lol.  I have no legs to stand on if we got into the "wasting money" chat, I daren't actually add up how much I spent on Poser Content alone last year let alone other bits and bobs blush

I cleaned out everything haing to do with V4.1 -ecept V4. I then re-installed V4.1, the muscle morpha and the creature morphs. Let the scrpits run that needed to. Then I loaded v4.1 into the work window and i could see that the muscle morphs had been installed. I went to the creature morphs and clicked on the cat and it said it was loading. Next thing i see, the program is asking me for injdeltas that were never in the file. The only thing in the creature morph file were pngs and pz2s.
So, why id the program asking me for deltas that were never there?

Valerian70 ( ) posted Sat, 05 January 2008 at 4:48 PM

There are deltas with the Creature Morphs, they will be installed to
C:Program Filese frontierPoser #RuntimeLibraries!DAZVictoria 4DeltasCreature

Assuming you installed your version of Poser to the default location on the C Drive

If you don't have that folder there then it may have been a problem with the download and resetting and redownloading from Daz should cure it.

mdbruffy ( ) posted Sat, 05 January 2008 at 5:10 PM

I finally got it to work after reloading the file again. Why did they ever re-design the morph injection set-up? it worked fine just the way it was.
Thank you to everyone that tried to help. I would never have gotten it figured out otherwise.

Valerian70 ( ) posted Sun, 06 January 2008 at 4:04 AM

Glad you got it working :o)

I think they went back to the INJ system because people were complaining that V4 was bloated because she loaded with all her morphs as default.  I could be way off the mark but I think that could be why - then again I have been way wide of the mark before and probablyam again.

mdbruffy ( ) posted Sun, 06 January 2008 at 5:19 AM

So why didn't they just load her with the same basic morphs V3 had and let folks load what they wanted from there?

Valerian70 ( ) posted Sun, 06 January 2008 at 6:55 AM

Goodness knows, that woudl likely have been too simple.

I just finshed working with Victoria 4.1 I had problems loading 3rd party morphs and getting things to animate well afterwards. I finally gave up since I needed to get animating. If you want to see Victoria 4 in action please take a look at the 4 min clip I just made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQbPp8wSr8U

mdbruffy ( ) posted Mon, 07 January 2008 at 8:39 PM

Has anyone else had trouble with the Wyldlegs for V4? can't seem to get those to load either- and this is after getting the creature morphs to finally load.
