Hmm.
What we see here is the result of messing up vertex orders. Some 3D modeling packages do that (3DS Max is notorious in this regard).
As for the channels, it doesn't really matter which one you pick.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
