Subject: Animating Textures

Is there a way to change a figure's textures partway through an animation? Or do I need to simply render the revised frames and manually edit them in? Thanks for any tips. - Jim

I don't think you can change textures in the middle of generating an animation. Here's what I would do; cut the animation sequence into two so they can be generated separately, then splice them back together after rendering. Krel

Thanks for the confirmation and, yeah, that's what I've been doing. I think I'll submit this to the Poser wishlist. Being able to apply animated textures, too, would be nice. - Jim

Does animated textures actually mean changing the texture on a certain mesh partway though an animation sequence. I always thought that it meant changing the structure of the same texture on the mesh. I may be wrong though? Colm...

I meant actually changing the texture. TrueSpace, for instance, will allow you to keyframe changes in the texture material, and I was wondering if there's a way to do that with Poser. TrueSpace also allows the use of .AVIs as textures, but that's a little different than my original question.

Similar question: Is there any way to do a "cloaking" scene, such as an object going from a solid texture to a refractive, but transparent over the animation? I've only got Bryce4, RDD502, and Poser4
